Hamble Old Boy’s Hockey Club
23rd September 2008
FIFTY YEARS ON AND STILL GOING STRONG
Hamble Old Boy’s Hockey Club celebrates its 50th anniversary this September.
It was in 1958 when a team of ex Hamble County Secondary School players decided to carry on their enthusiasm for hockey. The established world of hockey was surprised at their determination to succeed and break the mould of this close knit community.
The rest is just history
So who was to blame for this sudden interest in hockey?
What was the significance of Jumbo, Ashcan & Water Pump?
Why hockey and not football?
To find out the answers to these and many other questions please come along to the Roy Underdown pavilion on September 23rd when all will be revealed
New members and visitors always welcomed! The cost is £1 a meeting. If you would like a lift to the meeting please get in touch with the Society’s Secretary.
